200 push ups a day for 30 days, is it something you should do, does it actually work? And for who, only for beginners? Will it do nothing, or will it get you a lot stronger and build you massive muscles?
Well my brother did this 4 years ago, yes results, he was a starter back then and didn’t really work out after that until last year where I challenged him to transform his body in 90 days, and he did, but now I want to challenge him to do this again and see what happens...
But, he is not the only one I am challenging. In this video you'll 3 guys with a ll a different level of experience do 200 pushups a day for 30 days. A beginner, an intermediate and a professional!

    • @Akira torayma Yes, sadly if you're completely out of shape you can become stronger by doing a pushup. That's called practice. You get better at something by doing it. It doesn't mean your body will respond well though.

  • I think they forgot it's not the push up that grows your muscles, it's the healing from the tears the push ups do that grows your muscle. If they had gotten more rest they would have had better results.

  • In order to keep things fair and proportional to each guy, not all of them shoud do 200 PUs. But a relative increase. So, if we take the beginner as base for this project, 200/35 pushups means a 5.7x increase for daily pushups based on his max reps. Meaning that the beginner should go with 200; the intermediate with 286; and the advanced with 475 daily. That way, all of them would have a relative load that goes according to fitness level (for doing pushups that is). But then again I'm an engineer and not a youtuber. I better get my 200 for today under the belt and start that challenge... Cheers.

  • The man (Pavel Tsatsouline) that coined the term "greasing the groove" which this is, suggests (as far as I can recall) not doing too much above 50% of your max reps throughout the day. He also states that you should feel fresh as a daisy after each set to get the best results. Also, as full recovery takes 15 minutes (per Pavel), each set should be minimally 15 minutes apart - Just a few suggestions for any future vids on the subject... Oh, fun vid by the way..

  • I did this when I was 16-17 years old and got up to 1000 pushups per day after about 2 months. I stopped because it was taking more than 1 hour per day just to do the pushups, and my wrists started to hurt a lot because of the repetitive strain injuries. I start using fist pushups to save my wrists and that helped a lot.

  • It's a ton of work and hats off to the guys for doing it. But pushing through shoulder pain is a fast ticket to a stubborn tendonitis that might stay with you for a long time (been there, still there). The gains weren't well measured either. Their chests are bigger but what did they lose elsewhere? I saw a similar challenge, this was a 30 day Peloton challenge. The measurements were taken properly, everywhere in the body. They also measured power Vs endurance and things like that. At the end of the day obviously his VO2 Max increased. Muscle wise he put on a lot of it in the legs. He lost it everywhere else. On top of it, he was pushing through knee pain, so he started to overcompensate with the other leg when pedaling and most of the quad development went to the leg that wasn't painful. Something similar could probably happen if one of your shoulders hurt. On top of it, whilst the endurance improved, the leg power increased. The comment that one of the guys made which was "It takes less time to recover" means his body adapted for endurance. I wonder what happened to his power. Consistent balanced training is better than 30 day push up challenges. Again it's a lot of work and it's a fantastic achievement, but there are a lot of drawbacks to this.

  • this is not realistic and is not start to finish.... they have muscle memory.... there is NO way in hell they go from 0 abdominal muscle to 6 pack in 30 days..... the only remote way for that the happen is essentially board line starving yourself and doing thousands of setups every day to go from 0 to 100% 6 pack in 30 days....... this is not at all realistic..... this guy is only boasting about his pack and lying about the methods of achieving it... id say minimum 70-90 days with at least 200 sit-ups a day to get the "PRO" outcome.... PS: the pro is not "PRO" at all. his abdominal tracks are messy and unbalanced = he doesn't do the workout properly.
